It was in 2008 during the sandstorm of the Iraq war, when United States Army Sergeant Robert Patton, in Camp Speicher, Tikrit had a vision for an innovative design of underwear; SHEATH. This underwear would have a pouch sewn on the inside of the crotch area and would eliminate the balls from sticking to the inner thigh. A simple concept. By separating the balls from the thighs, future irritation from heat, sweat, and friction would be canceled. Two prototypes were made without delay in Tikrit, Iraq that summer. Years then passed, including a soft launch of sheathunderwear.com in 2010, an honorable discharge from the Army in 2011, and a year of training with a professional tailor from Vietnam in 2012. Then in 2013, SHEATH launched a Kickstarter which successfully crowdfunded the once flagship SHEATH 2.0, which is no longer an option to purchase. We are now on the V (5) edition, released in 2018. The 4.0 release, in 2017, launched the DUAL POUCH. The 2.1, 3.21, Horizontal Fly Single pouch and other Limited Editions are also available on the site. The G-6 will launch in 2022.
